Information on extended childcare
Purpose
The purpose is to improve child welfare in response to new childcare needs associated with the diversification of working styles of parents.

It is intended for children who have been certified as No. 2 or No. 3 and are admitted to a licensed daycare facility and who really need childcare during hours that exceed normal hours.
Extended childcare time
Extended childcare hours vary depending on each facility, so please contact us directly.

Extended childcare fee
Extended childcare fees are based on a monthly fee. The extended childcare fees for one month are as follows.

* The above table is the price list of facilities that provide extended childcare as a business of Chiba City. For the fees for facilities that provide extended childcare as an independent business, please check directly with the facility.
・ Free of charge for welfare households and households exempt from municipal tax.
・ The extended childcare fee will be borne from the month of application, and if there is no notification of suspension of use, it will be necessary to pay it regardless of whether or not it is used.
・ If you are late for pick-up even for 1 minute, in principle, an extended childcare fee will be charged. Please be aware in advance.
・ For those who have received short-term certification, if extended childcare occurs before and after the certification time, monthly fee will be collected for each hour before and after.
・Those who use Chiba City Public Nursery School and Public Certified Children’s Garden In principle, the transfer will be made from the same account as the regular childcare fee. If you are using a private garden, please check directly with the garden for payment methods.
・ As a general rule, the extended childcare fee is a monthly fee, but 1. Extended childcare only once a month for unavoidable sudden reasons other than 1. Handling of trains (including those other than JR) and 2. Train delays. The handling when using it depends on the garden. Please contact each garden for details. In addition, Chiba City public nursery school and publicly certified child institution do not collect the fee in case of 1., but collect the fee for one time specified separately in case of 2.
About extended childcare on Saturday (October 2nd year of Reiwa)
As a general rule, extended childcare is only available on weekdays, but from October 2nd year of Reiwa, some kindergartens (see “List of extended childcare on Saturdays” below) will have regular childcare hours (11 hours) even on Saturdays. We carry out extended childcare beyond.

The extended childcare fee for one month is as follows if all days of the week from Monday to Saturday are used at least once in the same month. For other uses, it is as above (3,000 yen for children under 3 years old, 1,900 yen for children over 3 years old).

(Specific example 1) When a
child under 3 years old uses extended childcare (1 hour) every week from Tuesday to Saturday in April → Extended childcare fee for April is 3,000 yen
(Specific example 2) When a
child under the age of 3 uses extended childcare (1 hour) every week from Tuesday to Saturday and also uses one day on Monday → The extended childcare fee for April is 3,600 yen.
How to apply
Please fill in the “Extended Childcare Application Form” and submit it to the nursery center (garden) director.
The application form is distributed at each nursery center (garden).
