National Health Insurance Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant
If a member of the National Health Insurance gives birth (including stillbirth and miscarriage of 12 weeks or more of pregnancy), a “lump-sum birth allowance” will be paid to the head of the household.
National Health Insurance Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant
As a general rule, the payment method is to pay directly from the National Health Insurance to a medical institution or midwifery home (hereinafter referred to as “medical institution, etc.”). [Direct payment system]
What is the direct payment system?
The head of the household concludes an agency contract with the medical institution regarding the application and receipt of the lump-sum childbirth and childcare allowance, so that the medical institution, etc. gives birth directly to Chiba City on behalf of the head of the household. This is a system for applying for and receiving a lump-sum childcare allowance.
With the direct payment system, you do not have to go through the procedure at the ward office, but you will have to go through the procedure at the medical institution where you plan to give birth, which will reduce the burden of procedures.
For those who are planning to give birth after April 2011, there is also a mechanism to entrust the receipt of the lump-sum birth allowance to a medical institution. [Receiving agency system]
What is the receiving agency system?
The head of the household prepares a nationally designated application form at a medical institution, etc., and submits a notification to the Citizen’s General Counter Division / Citizen Center of the ward office before giving birth, and entrusts the receipt of the lump-sum birth allowance to the medical institution. It is a system to do.
As a result of this mandate, the National Health Insurance will provide the lump-sum childbirth and childcare allowance to medical institutions, etc., so it is not necessary to pay the amount equivalent to the lump-sum childbirth and childcare allowance at the time of discharge.
