HPV (human papillomavirus)

HPV (human papillomavirus) infection vaccination

Human papillomavirus infection vaccination is effective against HPV (human papillomavirus) types 16 and 18, which are common causes of cervical cancer.
It is advisable to vaccinate before starting sexual intercourse, as it is transmitted by sexual intercourse. Vaccination cannot prevent all carcinogenic HPV infections. It is necessary to have a uterine cancer screening on a regular basis.
There are two types of vaccines. We inoculate three times in half a year, but the inoculation interval is different.

The standard inoculation age is for girls of the age equivalent to the first grade of junior high school. When you are in the sixth grade of elementary school, you can receive the HPV vaccine as a routine immunization.

The side reactions of the HPV vaccine were analyzed and evaluated based on the medical information collected so far at the expert meeting held on June 14, 2013, and compared with the effectiveness of vaccination. However, it was not evaluated as high enough to stop the regular vaccination. At that meeting, it is not possible to provide sufficient information about adverse reaction cases of pain that persists in a wide range of the body other than the inoculation site, so it is possible to provide appropriate information while securing inoculation opportunities for those who wish to inoculate. Until then, it is said that active vaccination recommendations should be temporarily withheld. (Quoted from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare website)

When inoculating, please refer to the leaflet below and consult with your doctor about the effectiveness and side reactions of the vaccine.

For children and parents who are considering receiving the HPV vaccine
